Happy New Year resolutions

Happy New Year!

I had a great night with an amazing dinner and some laughs with friends and now I am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed heading into 2007.

I ALWAYS have resolutions. Every year I have my list of, usually, five things.

Why five, you ask?
To be honest, so I can blow some off and still feel like I've accomplished something.

I know, I know...

Anyhow, here is my list of things I want to do in 2007. It's in writing out there in the world so I'm gonna have to do it. Right?

1. I will reach my goal weight by the end of my 40th year, which is on September 12. This one is non-negotiable. It will happen.

2. I will get back into my running. I enjoy running but I am easily side-tracked. I know this and I will be on guard against it.

3. I will learn something new. I am leaning toward taking a yoga class and I would like to take some other class too...maybe a creative writing or something.

4. I will read some of the "the books everyone should read in their life". I am just starting Lord of the Flies and I will read at least one each month. But not Kerouac, I can't stand Kerouac...my apologies to his fans but that man...blech! I would love to start a book club. Anyone out there interested in a Diaryland bookclub??

5. I will spend more time one-on-one with each of my kids. That one is pretty self-explanatory.

So there you go, that's the list and I promise to do everything on it...no dropping one and not feeling bad because there is still four more.

I know how your sick, little mind works, reader, and NO MORE!
