Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!

I love Halloween. As a matter of fact, I love all holidays but over the years I've kind of gotten away from the whole going overboard with the decorating and such. I love looking at other people's stuff but I don't have the time or the energy to do some myself.

That's sad really. I can remember one year making a GIANT spider out of 10 or so garbage bags and attaching it to the front of our house.

Burt *sigh* hubby is not into that kind of stuff and the kids have inherited a bit of his attitude so I just don't do it anymore.

Speaking of the kids. Potatie has an opportunity to go on a trip with her "organized girls club" to Edmonton. I have no details other than it's to Edmonton which would involve a plane ride and stuff.

I am over the moon excited!!
SHE doesn't even want to go.

Why am I surrounded by people who get the most amazing opportunities and just display a total lack of interest?

I'm trying to tell her what it would be like and how much fun it would be. Hell, I'll even sign up as a chaperone and go.

I mean, really, here I am 41 years old and while I've travelled to Florida and California and New Orleans - I have NEVER been to any other province in Canada other than my own.

And since hubby has told me that he does not want to travel..."it's not something he's interested in doing" I'm guessing that anywhere I go now is going to have to be close by, very inexpensive, or on someone else's dime.

I'm gonna try to convince her to go. I think it would be good for her.
